July found Celeste and I very busy in the Sierra Nevada’s of California consulting for ” Man vs. Wild” starring Bear Grylls for Discovery Channel UK. Bear and the crew from Diverse are awesome people and we look forward to working with these great folks again.
Much of the shoot took place in the area of the ancient homeland of the Western Sierra Mono peoples, which is just south of Yosemite. I would like to thank Derrick Hitchcock representative of the tribe, and especially my friend and author Galen D. Lee, a descendant of the Pomona family, traditional leaders of the Nim’s Eagle Clan for adding his support and knowledge in helping to make this production a great success.
Celeste and I are happy to be relaxing at home. We have spent a few days hiking the beach and dunes near our place in Oregon, and harvesting our first chanterelles mushrooms of the season! I am especially thrilled because this means Celeste is going to make her famous Chanterelle mushroom chowder, which is incredibly delicious!
