First Circle Camp is the first camp in our series of our four Circle Camp survival training series for adults 18 and over.
As a participant in this week long wilderness adventure, you will engage in hands – on learning while building a solid foundation in the mental, physical, and self-reliant skills necessary to live and thrive in primitive wilderness conditions.
Our First Circle camp is designed to prepare, challenge, and educate in the protocols of wilderness survival. You will learn how you can survive if the need arises, by learning, practicing and applying our time honored survival techniques.
The First circle camp is designed such that you do not have to be in great shape to attend. We are not a boot camp and make our Circle camps accessible to as many adults as possible who want to learn the skills of wilderness living and get back to the beauty of nature.
The Sacred Four of Survival: shelter, water, fire, and food. These are the basic necessities that we must have in order to provide for our most basic needs.
First circle instructs in survival skills that work and are simple to apply in all survival situations. Beginning with the science of shelter to utilizing the benefits of wild plants, for foods, tools, and medicines, First Circle gives you the information and” hands on experience” you need.
Number one in the sacred order of survival. Our body is our first concern in a survival situation, knowing how to protect and shelter it from the elements is crucial to survival. We cover shelter in the most basic sense and add more advanced techniques for extreme conditions.
Without good fresh water to drink, our body’s can have a difficult time of it. Water is number two in the sacred order of survival, you will learn how to locate, filter, and purify water as well as learning how to build and utilize a solar still.
The ability to make fire is the third order of survival. The art of fire making is critical and a life saving technique that must be mastered for wilderness living and survival. We teach various techniques of fire making including the bow drill friction fire in this camp.
The fourth order of survival: knowing how, what, and where to harvest for food in the wild is a tremendous skill. Even more important is learning what wild plants, animals, birds, reptiles, and insects can be healthy fare for our wilderness repast. Even though we do not trap or snare live animals at camp, you will learn how to, and learn to prepare, preserve, and cook wild game as well as learn the many uses of plants, shrubs, and trees.
Tools are an important part of our survival kit. From sticks to darts, clubs, to rock, snares and dead-falls, learning how to create and use these tools will be a big part of camp.
We cover the art of orienteering and path finding: finding your way around and through the mountains is critical knowledge to have if you have lost your map and are without a compass.
In First Circle you will be introduced to the art of flow and movement as well as your introduction to sign tracking, wildlife behavior, and the art of seeing.
First Circle is available to men and women 18 years and older. This is a great camp to start with for folks who have never camped before. And for novice or experienced backpacker’s who want to learn how to take care of themselves in a survival situation far from the trail head.
Education is knowledge and knowledge is empowering.
We recommend our camps to hunters, experienced outdoors men and women who suddenly realize that extra survival skills might come in handy sometime.
Lifesong Wilderness Adventures deepens your connection with nature, builds self-reliance, and personal empowerment.
Our survival camps energize and rejuvenate body, mind, and spirit.
