About Mark Wienert Jr. of Life Song
lifesong Wilderness Adventures
There is in the heart of all things worth doing, the shear joy of it!
It takes courage to follow your dreams!
Nature; is the source. Without it, we are doomed!
You cannot cut one strand of the web of life and not affect the whole.
It is in the joy of our children at play, that we remember where we came from and who we are.
It is within the sweetness of the water that we remember our responsibility.
It is from these beliefs; that Lifesong Wilderness Adventures came alive!
Mark and Bella
A little bit about Mark Wienert Jr., and Lifesong Wilderness Adventures.
I was born in 1953 on the Oregon coast and began Life Song in 1994 in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California. I operated a small logging business for 20 years that helped raise our two children, or as I like to say, “They raised me”. A grandfather now, and thrilled to be so.
Yosemite was my back yard in those days, the eastern Sierra, a few hours drive in the summer. Summers were spent mountaineering, river swimming, and backpacking; winters full of adventures in the back-country, skiing as often as I could. Nature and life became my school, my place of education.
At 15, I traveled to Canada for the first time. Where I heard my first Wolf and saw my first Grizzly bear. These two singular events continue to impart the richness in my life that only adventures truly lived can do.
I have been teaching professionally for over 15 years with emphasis in the art of wilderness survival, nature awareness, and animal tracking.
For this I must thank Tom Brown Jr. a true Coyote teacher, for passing on to me and countless others, our responsibility as stewards to the earth, to the children, and to all things that live within the circle of life.
These important skills we offer at Lifesong, have a profound and positive effect with people of all ages; from all walks of life.
My consulting services have included work with Peter Famin, (Director of Crocodile Dundee), Phil Keougin of ‘The Amazing Race’, and Bear Grylls, of Man vs Wild and Born Survivor produced for Travel and Discovery Channels.
Mark has been an active volunteer with the California Sinkyone Wilderness State Park; Volunteered and employed with – California Conservation Corp; Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife; and Boy Scouts of America.
