fire plough.
The fire plough, has it's roots in the Polynesian and Aboriginal cultures.
If a stick is rubbed very quickly against another piece of wood, friction can make it hot enough to make tinder catch fire. With a fire plough, the stick or 'plough' is pushed along the groove towards the tinder. Hot pieces of the stick jump on to the tinder to make a flame.
Half the fun of learning is trying the technique with numerous types of wood and size. Graham is going for the big stuff. As you become more and more aware of your surroundings, you begin to see the possibilities, let creativity take over and the adventure just gets better and better.
