Nature Awareness the Second Circle
Nature Awareness is all about absorbing your immediate surroundings through sight, sound, touch and smell. Our senses are continually assaulted with modern technology and we learn to block much of what we experience.
Keen senses in nature will help you survive. It is important to become sensitive to your surroundings once again and Lifesong Adventures takes you there. Sensory awareness takes you to a deeper level of attention, through sign tracking, nature observation, natural camouflage, and movement or flow.
Sign tracking relates to animals and humans alike. Have fun looking for the bear and the mouse above or track your fellow campers. Tracks not only tell you what creature you are following, but show you the direction of travel, relative size and weight, male or female and when the animal or person traveled through.
All nature travels in patterns as the elk below.
Humans must use artificial camouflage, unlike nature's creatures who come with their own color patterns and behaviors that hide them well in their natural environments. In our desire to observe them we must bend and flow with nature. Develop our smell, touch, hearing and widen our vision.
