the third circle

There is an old saying from the north woods,

 
“The more you know, the less you have to carry.”

 
And that's our goal here.  Third Circle is where we bring it all together.  All the skills and techniques learned in First and Second Circle, you will practice, and hone to a razors edge.

It is knowledge that allows us to read the landscape quickly. It's our ability and skill that transforms knowledge into something tangible. 

Students will ► build a primitive shelter to live in during the week 

                    ► use three techniques to create fire

·       ·                 ► locate, collect, and purify 1 gallon of water

·                         ► identify, collect and utilize 5 

                          edible/medicinal/utilitarian plants

·                         ► locate and identify 4 edible insects

·                         ► observe, track, and identify 4 mammals 

·                         ► observe and identify 4 birds by sound

Our goal is to instruct each student in the use of primitive tools and skills which are quick and simple, but extremely effective where and whenever you need to draw on them.

Students will ► make and use primitive fishing line and hook 

                    ► skin, prepare, cook and preserve game

                    ► make and use a quick bow

                    ► make and set 4 snares and 2 deadfalls

Students will practice and utilize...awareness exercises... natural camouflage...the flow...hunting and stalking techniques.

You have steadily increased your self-confidence and skill level with each camp and have moved forward from basic survival onward to self-reliance mastery and the final sacred fourth circle ~ Rites of Passage.
