Training in survival skills before you head out is the smart thing to do. Survival skills are tools you carry with you in your brain, pockets, and pack. I'm biased of course but if you ask me: "should I have survival skills training before my first deer hunt?" Yes, that's a smart idea. Or what about backpacking for the first time? Yes, I would. Is survival skills training really so necessary you ask? Yes it is. You will be better prepared and have more fun in all your outdoor activity's.
Survival Skills Training
Our exceptional training builds your confidence. Get back to nature with the ancient but proven skills of survival.
Learning the basics of survival
The Sacred Four of Survival: shelter, water, fire, and food. These are the necessities we must have to provide for our most basic human needs. Survival skills training teaches basic survival skills that work and are simple to apply.
Number one in the sacred order of survival is shelter. Our body is our first concern in a survival situation, knowing how to protect and shelter it from the elements is crucial. We cover shelter in the most basic sense and add advanced techniques for more extreme conditions.
Without good fresh water to drink, our body's can have a difficult time of it. Water is number two in the sacred order of survival, you will learn how to find, filter, and purify water
The ability to make fire is the third order of survival. The art of fire making is critical and a life saving technique that must be mastered for wilderness emergencies.
The fourth order of survival, knowing how, what, and where to harvest food in the wild. Even more important is learning what wild plants, animals, birds, reptiles, and insects can be healthy fare for our growling stomach. We do not trap or snare live animals at camp, but you will learn the techniques, and learn to prepare and cook wild foods.
Tools are an important part of our survival kit. From sticks to darts, clubs to rock, snares and deadfalls, learning how to create and use these tools will be a big part of camp.
We cover the art of orienteering/navigation and path finding. Finding your way around and through the mountains is critical knowledge to have if you have lost your map and are without a compass.
