Ancestral Skills expert Woniya Thibeault shown here. Woniya operates Buckskin Revolution and survived 70-Days in the Arctic as a contestant on the TV series ALONE. Woniya was to join us as a guest instructor during First Circle Camp in 2020. But alas the Pandemic made that impossible. However, we look forward to the future where we will all be back sharing ancestral skills in the sacred circle of life.
Ancestral Skills
Primitive technology is the foundation, the ancestral way of life for early humans. From clothing made of animal hides, to how food was foraged and prepared. Ancestral skills are the foundation of survival skills. Where knowledge and wisdom of the old ways come together.
Woniya's Buckskin Revolution
"The goal of Buckskin Revolution is helping people feel connected to their wildest, freest selves, to their human community, and to the living world around them.
Teaching the skills to gather and create the things they need for daily living- clothing, shelter, food, containers and more. It's about helping people feel empowered to choose a life for themselves rather than feeling trapped in the system." ~Woniya Thibeault.
Woniya
"The Buckskin Revolution is not just making buckskin clothing, or harvesting wild foods or survival skills, it is about inspiring and enabling people to do more for themselves and to be freer, healthier, wilder, more connected human beings."
Practical Wilderness Survival Skills for Men and Women
A few years ago, I came across this remarkable quote. Ms. Jackson, an elder of her people. Fell back on their ancestral skills to survive a devastating natural disaster.
"Our people used traditional knowledge from the forest, to help themselves...Learn to carry your box of matches in your mind and muscle" ~Vaasilli Moelagi Jackson. Savaii, Western Samoa.
This is the essence of what we teach. To help you become more self-reliant connected to this world we care for.
