Meet the rest of us as we offer you a professional approach to wilderness survival training.
Jayson Thoming-Gale ~instructor and camp chef extraordinaire
You will meet Jayson at our California, Oregon, and Texas camps. One of our recent First Circle graduates has this to say about Jayson’s ability as camp chef and instructor:
Thank you to Jayson, for helping make the most amazing meals. Teaching our group the many things we could eat (and did) right there on the mountain. It was exciting to pick wild purple onion and see it in one of our meals or drink nettle and pine needle tea. Mark, you are blessed to have someone so gifted helping to create magic.
Our Volunteer Instructors
Our volunteers come with a sense of humor, enthusiasm, vitality, and the spirit of adventure. Our volunteers make the extra effort to support our students. We appreciate them all and their dedication.
Roberta Kellis ~ Instructor
Roberta is our lead Oregon Survival School instructor.
A long time student with us, Roberta’s attention to detail, hands-on experience, and excellent communication skills provides professional instruction for our students.
In 2008, I decided to venture out with my husband, Gary, to experience his annual elk-hunting trip. With no confidence in my abilities and completely fearful of the woods, I felt almost paralyzed to leave the camp without my husband.
I decided to transform that fear. I began training with my husband and Lifesong Wilderness Adventures – tracking, edible plants, fire craft, and trapping. Armed with skills learned and building confidence, the world has opened up for me, I’m no longer afraid, ready to take on whatever life presents. It’s time to share that with others and help them to experience what they, too, might be missing. ~Roberta Kellis

Jeff H. had this to say about Kahlil during his First Circle Camp.
Thank you to Khalil your 19-year-old Padawan who set the example of what we could learn and become. You have helped him become the man I met that weekend, fearless and courageous but always there with encouragement and a smile. I was thinking how amazing he is and wished more kids could benefit from your mentorship.
